Meet Dr. Dailey. Dr. Mary Caruso Dailey is a product development specialist for the Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division at 3M where she is currently developing a thermal bond adhesive for new products and new technologies around responsive materials. Prior to this role, Dailey served as a product development chemist in the Industrial Business Group, working on epoxy-based structural adhesives at 3M. Her projects include developing adhesives for automotive, aerospace and industrial applications.
In addition to her research, Mary has participated in a number of leadership and mentoring opportunities, such as the 3M’s student Science Training Encouragement Program (STEP) and 3M’s Teachers Working in Science and Technology (TWIST) program. She has also served as a science fair judge at the state and regional levels, spoken at various high schools through the 3M TECH program and tutored elementary students in math and reading. Dailey earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010.
