Where we're going, we don't need roads!
Before experiencing it myself, I thought invention was all about creativity. Why not? It’s definitely a huge part of it—thinking of new, unheard of ways to tackle a common problem. But, again, things aren’t always what they first appear to be. Invention, in practice, is the result of a lot of creativity paired with a TON of knowledge about both the problem itself and the science that makes up your solution. Read more

Wow- time really does seem to fly quickly! With the end of August rolling in, some of us have another exciting thing to look for- a new school year! I'll be expecting new, different challenges, such as juggling my school work and YSC project, and I'm definitely looking forward to my last year in middle school =)

This week, I decided which project I will pursue in the Young Scientist Challenge. I chose the project with the greatest potential to preserve and improve human life.
My mentor has been an integral component of my project so far. He has given valuable advice and information about the life of a scientist, and I look forward to becoming more familiar with the culture of innovation that exists in 3M.
Up to this point, I am satisfied with the progress of my work; however, I am eager to work on the project. Read more
