I am working on a solution which helps deal with mosquitoes that may carry malaria or other diseases. Some of the key pieces of information that I needed to complete my design are not available in the current literature, so I had to conduct these experiments on my own. Dealing with live insects is especially difficult because they may move around and be difficult to collect. Most problems cannot be solved without research, especially when the problem doesn't occur near you and you have never experienced it before. Read more

After considering my ideas, I’ve decided on one problem to focus on which was to continue my own original entry topic -- Proactively Prevent Drowsy Driving. When choosing my problems, I considered many factors including different solutions I came up, the importance of the problem, existing solutions.
My mentor Dr. Jesse Miller has been a great help to me! He is really supportive and guides me in the right direction. It’s really nice to have a real engineer to talk to about my project who gives me good advice. Read more

To focus on one research problem to start working on, I had three ideas in mind. All three were legitimate ideas to begin with, but the one that I believed to be both feasible and had the greatest impact on the world was my idea on hydroplaning.
