Over this past week, I chose one of my three problems to solve and have begun research for plausible solutions. Though I was sad about narrowing my options down to one, I am excited to embark on a quest for a solution to one of the world's biggest issues.
Having a 3M mentor to help is an incredible experience. My mentor, Dr. Jonza, has helped me become a much more global thinker due to his extensive experience as a a scientist in the real world. Also, with a mentor, I can share my ideas and receive instantaneous feedback about them. Read more

I chose my original entry idea based on the same guidelines that I had made for myself last week, and I had added some guidelines, such as the availability of materials to follow through with the idea, and how interested in the topic I am. Also, if other solutions exist, how much of an innovation it would be compared to past solutions or ideas. Read more

It's been really good having a mentor to bounce my ideas off of. I really found her advice helpful. Narrowing down my list of problems to just one wasn't too difficult. I chose the problem that seemed most important to me. So far, I have accomplished a lot, building prototypes and doing research. I am really excited to start building my final project! Read more
