The Discovery 3M Young Scientist Challenge has been such an amazing experience so far. I have learned so much during this summer in the collaboration with my 3M mentor, Dr. Thunhorst. I also had the pleasure to meet Dr. Haugen, a 3M fuel cell specialist, who has given expert advice as well.
The best part of my summer has to be the interaction between my mentor and me. It has been so amazing to look at the synergy in the work that we accomplish. Probably the most challenging issue we faced was conjuring ideas to solve problems during the experimentation. That is when Dr. Haugen came in and kick-started the experimentation process. I have learned that it all comes down to research and more research.
School is about to start, and I am excited to share this amazing experience with my friends. I am continuing the experimentation process in an attempt to improve my research project. I hope everyone else is having a great time as well!
