Aidan - Final Blog!
My innovation, the Fibonacci Power Pak, is finally finished and I’m running it through tests to see how it performs. My data so far shows that it is working as planned and the power output is even better than expected! Special thanks to my 3M mentor Dr. Belma who was able to provide 3M materials to help it come together. I ran into a lot of challenges and mechanical problems along the way but I learned the lesson to never give up!
Time has gone by so fast. The summer’s gone and the leaves are changing color. Looks like October has arrived! I can't believe that the final round is next week already! It will be fun meeting everyone and all the 3M scientists.
I was happy to meet another finalist, Depeeka from New Hampshire, this past week. She was very nice and we got to talk about our projects. If you were watching “Wake Up With Al” on the Weather Channel, you got a preview of two of the great projects that will be coming to 3M next week. It was a real honor being on the show and it was fantastic meeting Al Roker and Stephanie Abrams. Mr. Roker was very friendly and was very excited about us visiting him in the studio. We had to get up really early for the show and it was tough talking that early in the morning but Depeeka and I had lots of fun explaining our innovations. I look forward to seeing Depeeka again next week and the rest of the gang.
This will be my last blog post before the competition. I had a lot of fun building my project and interacting with the staff of 3M and Discovery. In case you missed the preview on “Wake Up With Al”, I put together a quick video for you to see what I have been working on. If you would like to learn more details tune in next week to the Discovery 3M Young Scientist Challenge.
Hope you like it!
